And into the forest I go, to lose my mind and find my soul.
- JOHN MUIR
When is the last time you stepped out into the fresh air, walked among trees, and breathed it all deeply? In our ancestors' time, nature was filled with more than just their clocks. Today, it probably reflects how much time we spend on tech (ok, that's a little excessive, but you get the picture). We live in an urban jungle and spend most of our time on computers and phones. Consequently, we live in a state of "stress."
Now the question arises, how can you de-stress and relax effectively? Go forest bathing!
Forest bathing isn't about water; instead, it's all about letting the healing energy of trees and plants wash over you. You don't need to be an outdoor enthusiast to practice forest bathing; walking in nature and intentionally connecting with the environment can suffice.
Immerse yourself in nature through all your five senses. Take in the forest's aroma and experience a sense of calm and joy. As you notice the scent of the air, the snow falling from tree branches or tracks left by animals, your awareness levels shoot up. Hiking in the woods does not mean bathing in a forest; instead, it's about soaking in natural sights you wouldn't normally consider. All we need to do is say yes to forest bathing and let mother nature do the rest.
Excited, but no forests nearby? Visit green spaces in your city or even growing plants in your house will help you achieve positive health benefits.
Let there be trees, and everyone will be happier and healthier for a lifetime!
